Rupin Pass Trek Package
The Rupin Pass Trek is one of the most iconic and adventurous high-altitude treks in the Indian Himalayas. Located at an elevation of 15,250 ft (4,650 m), this trek is known for its ever-changing landscapes, thrilling terrain, and unmatched beauty. Starting from the quaint village of Dhaula in Uttarakhand and ending at Sangla in Himachal Pradesh, the Rupin Pass trek is a cross-country expedition that offers trekkers a taste of both states in a single journey. Along the way, you encounter gushing rivers, hanging villages, snowy bridges, high-altitude meadows, and finally, the exhilarating climb to the Rupin Pass summit.
Situated in the Govind National Park, the Rupin Pass Trek is famous for its dramatic scenery that changes with every turn. The trail takes you through dense oak and rhododendron forests, scenic hamlets, suspension bridges, glacial valleys, and breathtaking waterfalls. One of the highlights of the trek is the three-stage Rupin Waterfall, a stunning sight where the roaring river cascades down from the mountains. Trekkers also pass through traditional villages like Jakha, often called the “hanging village” due to its unique position on the mountain slopes. Every day on this trek feels like stepping into a new world.
The difficulty level of the Rupin Pass Trek is rated moderate to difficult because of its high altitude, steep ascents, and long walking hours. The most challenging yet rewarding part of the journey is the climb to the Rupin Pass itself, where trekkers cross snowfields and steep ridges to reach the summit. Standing atop the pass, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Kinner Kailash range and surrounding peaks. The best time to do this trek is May–June and September–October, when the weather is favorable and the landscapes are at their most vibrant.
